504 Squadron remembering WW1 hero Captain Albert Ball VC.

On Monday 7th May 2018 504 squadron (Sqn) gathered at Nottingham Castle and joined other Sqn’s from Nottingham to remember the death of WW1 hero Captain Albert Ball VC.

Captain Ball VC died 101yrs ago whilst on a mission with other aircraft from No 56 Sqn, when they encounter German Fighters.

Staff and Cadets formed up on the Castle green and then marched to Captain Ball’s VC memorial in the castle grounds. After a short service and reef laying by the Lord Mayor of Nottingham, the Lord Lieutenant and South and East Midlands Wing’s Deputy Officer Commmanding Squadron Leader Carl Wilson the staff and Cadets performed a March Past, moving back to the Castle green for dismissal.
